This 8" Whale Bone Bowl is handcrafted by Duaine Richards of Palmer, Alaska. Using a lathe, Mr. Richards creates the bowl by turning a section of whale vertebrate. This natural material is gathered off the shores of the Aleutian Islands in Western Alaska. The age of this material is estimated to be between 100-1000 years. Each bowl is unique in shape, color and size. This two piece bowl, with lid, is 8" in diameter and nearly 3" high at the top of the lid.
